What am I like to work with?
I ask questions. A lot of questions. Even ones that seem obvious. On the flip side of that, I love being able to help others and find the answers to their questions. If I don’t know the answer I will do everything I can to help you find it because doing so will also help me learn.
I am hyper organised and like to be prepared for any eventuality and so I go out of my way to understand how a feature will be built, and how it will work so I can design for edge cases. My favourite thing is when someone asks if I’ve thought of x, y or z and I already have designs for those edge cases. I call it a ‘blue peter moment’.
What types of projects have I worked on?
My speciality is enterprise-level products. I thrive in complexity and am happiest when working on big picture functionality. However, in my time as a UX Designer, I’ve worked on over 60 projects. Including everything from not for profit charities, service design for large public transport agencies, quant trading products, e-commerce websites, social media mobile apps and AI project management tools.
Do I have coding/development experience?
Yes and no. I can write basic HTML and CSS from my university days but I personally feel that I’m awful at it, and have never written anything production-ready. I do have a solid understanding of development practices, terminology and constraints due to years of working closely with developers and having a back end developer as a significant other.
Do you have experience using ‘x’ tool?
I like trying out new products to see if they could improve my workflow so at the very least I may have dabbled in something similar to the tool you use. However, my go-to tools at the moment are; Figma, Miro, Maze, Notion, Linear and Fullstory.
